Bootstrap Software, a software consulting firm in Manhattan, is looking for an Oracle PL/SQL Developer to work on a batch loading and transformation routines for a fortune 1000 company. This is a short-term assignment that could lead to a permanent position for the right candidate. A successful candidate must enjoy and excel at working on mission critical business applications in a fast paced technical environment. Project could be completed remotely under the right circumstances.

We welcome code critique, and are always open minded to new methodologies. We seek to grow and improve as a collective, top to bottom. Responsibilities Include:
1. Analyze project requirements and document technical specifications
2. Ensure proper system integration between business rules, applications, and database implementation
3. Write DML to build database objects
4. Build sql*loader modules
5. Design PL/SQL packages, procedures and functions for batch processing
6. Build UNIX shell scripts
7. Automate UNIT testing for PL/SQL packages
8. Clean and maintain database by repairing data integrity issues, implementing constraints and removing offending data
9. Update and maintain metadata and database dictionaries
10. Ensure database performance and resolve problems
11. Resolve programmatic flaws and provide database support through a ticketing system
12. Provide metrics and project planning updates to project managers
13. Foster cross team communication
Qualifications & Skills:
1. 6+ years of progressive software development lifecycle experience
2. 4+ years experience with Oracle PL/SQL in 10g UNIX environment
3. Experience programming in a PL/SQL batch environment utilizing large tables and high transaction throughput requirements
4. Expertise with Oracle Utilities in UNIX environment, especially SQL*Loader and SQL*Plus
5. Strong SQL skills are required
6. Strong analytical skills
7. Strong verbal and written communication skills
8. Expertise in UNIX fundamentals
9. Experience working in a project driven environment is a plus
10. Experience working against strict time lines is a plus
11. Experience implementing UNIX shell scripts is a plus
12. Experience using SVN a plus
13. If working remotely, a reliable and fast internet connection is required
